Non-Linear Junction Detectors (NLJD's) have been used in Counter
Surveillance (TSCM) for many years and were introduced in the mid 1980s
for the detection of hidden electronic circuits.
Countermeasure searches can be monotonous, repetitive and stressful in
certain environments; non linear junction detection is an extremely
powerful search technique in addition to normal physical search
procedures. An NLJD will detect and locate any electronic device
regardless of whether or not the device is powered.
-
Robust, light weight, fibre glass and carbon design, operational
weight less than 2kg
-
Continuous wave transmission (CW) reduces the risk of missing a
threat, CW is also the preferred method in EOD applications
-
Highly sensitive receivers with excellent signal-to-noise ratio
-
High transmit power, variable from 2mW up to 1W (2W optional)
-
Balanced, ergonomic design with integrated display module
-
Unique 4-way thumb control, placed conveniently on display screen,
for most commonly used functions
-
4
selectable operating frequencies to avoid possible interference from
local transmissions
-
Circular polarized antenna removes risk of missing a threat due to
incorrect polarization
-
Revolutionary design, "all in one" single body unit with option of
antenna separated from control module

Top Tip
When using an NLJD false
positives (alarms) can be caused when 2 pieces of metal
such as nails are very close together. When this
occurs in a wall or piece of furniture where you
wouldn't expect a return, have a strong signal on the
NLJD and tap the area/item with a mallet. If the signal
isn't caused by a non linear junction the signal will
either disappear or have a momentary blip. In
order to reduce collateral damage and unsightly black
marks a white rubber mallet is recommended. We accept no
blame for any damage caused using this technique! |

SuperBroom Advanced is a portable simple to use advanced non-linear
junction detector that discriminates between electronic targets and
innocent return signals. Radiating a spectrally pure signal SuperBroom
Advanced detects the second and third harmonic return signals
re-radiated by non-linear junctions (NLJs) found in all semiconductors
such as diodes and transistors. Automatic Power adjustment mode prevents
saturation of targets and coupled with high sensitivity and
sophisticated Digital Signal Processing (DSP) gives superior detection
range and resolution.
Designed for the security professional SuperBroom Advanced is simple to
use providing easy and user friendly operation to detect active, dormant
or non-operational electronic devices. SuperBroom Advanced is an
indispensable tool wherever there is a need to locate electronic devices |

DetectIV |

Audiotel

|
The introduction of DetectIV marks the
beginning of effective electronic bug detection becoming a general
everyday security task rather than a specialist activity carried out by
highly trained operatives with an excess of equipment.
Audiotel have taken four main detection technologies and integrated them
into one compact, hand-held, easy-to-use tool. Each of the detectors
operates in sequence five times a second effectively giving real-time
continuous display of activity for each detector. Each of the sensors
covers a different type of threat such that, a suspicious device that
may be missed by one type of sensor is picked up by one or more of the
other sensors.
In performing a single physical sweep of an area DetectIV effectively
carries out four separate searches. By combining and presenting
information from the sensors in a clear and simple manner DetectIV
allows non-technical operators to make effective sweeps of an area to
find any concealed listening device. |

ECLIPSE is designed to detect various kinds
of electronic devices containing semiconductor elements, such as
eavesdropping devices, microphone amplifiers, audio-recording devices,
remote control devices etc., both in switched-on and switched-off modes.
A non linear junction detector locates potential eavesdropping devices
by flooding a suspect area or target with a spectrally pure microwave RF
signal.
The relative strength of second and third harmonic returned being
reflected by non-linear junctions varies depending on the construction
material of the junction. Metallic junctions return a greater relative
3rd harmonic signal than semiconductors junctions. Semiconductors
junctions return a greater relative 2nd harmonic signal than metal
oxides. By comparing the relative strengths of the two harmonics ECLIPSE
gives the operator a clearer indication of the source of any reflected
signal. |

Transistors, diodes and
integrated circuits all contain nonlinear diode junctions that create
the actual semiconductor device. The BOOMERANG4 ™ Nonlinear
Junction Detector will find these components used in surveillance
transmitters (audio and video), hidden microphones, infrared and
ultrasonic transmitters tape recorders and other covert eavesdropping
devices hidden in walls, ceilings, bookcases, plants, furniture, etc.
The BOOMERANG4 is simple to use and extremely accurate. Its
antenna is skimmed over the surface being swept. Most electronic
circuits can be detected for several feet even through dense material.
BOOMERANG4 ™ detects two different types of harmonic signals,
displaying the difference between an actual bug and a false return
caused by dissimilar metals.
Semiconductor components primarily radiate a frequency that is two times
that of the signal from BOOMERANG4's transmitter. This
signal is called the second harmonic. Upwards of 90% of the signal
radiated by a semiconductor is second harmonic.
Dissimilar metals not used in semiconductors radiate a significant
quantity of a signal that is three times that of the BOOMERANG4's
transmitter. This is called the third harmonic.
The BOOMERANG4's antenna mounted display shows the level of
both signals. The operator simply visually compares the levels of
second and third harmonics on the LED bargraph meters to instantly
determine whether a bug or a false return has been detected
-
NJD-4
BOOMERANG4 ™ is an FCC type approved model vailable in a low power
configuration (100 milliwatt). The NJD-4 is recommended for
use by civilian groups within the United States.
-
NJD-5
BOOMERANG4 ™ is a
high power unit, available to US federal government groups
and for use outside of the United States. The NJD-5 has a
500 milliwatt transmitter for greater detection range
especially in dense materials. The NJD-5 also has an
integral multistep attenuator to allow the user to control
the actual detection range by lowering the transmitter
output.
