Applied Hacking & Technical Countermeasures Level 2 is an advanced technical track for security and network operations personnel who require a clear understanding and deep knowledge of the latest security threats to their networks in order to effectively manage their risk. This two-day course builds on the concepts and techniques introduced in the Level 1 course, covering in technical detail the following key elements: ? Circumvention of security mechanisms upon compromising a host, including the use of IP spoofing and session hijacking, and ARP techniques ? Low-level network assessment of firewalls and stateful filtering devices ? In-depth detail of application layer vulnerabilities, including detailed information about stack overflows, heap overflows and other problems. This advanced track is designed to appeal to those with a thirst for further technical knowledge. A good understanding of Internet protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP) is required, and knowledge of Unix-based environments and some ANSI C or C++ programming experience is beneficial. For delegates to attend this course, they must attend and complete the Level 1 standard track first.
