Applied Hacking & Technical Countermeasures Level 1 is an entry-level two day course in practical applied hacking; covering network and system security from a completely technical standpoint, with live hands-on examples and a mock corporate network containing Unix-based and Windows servers for attendees to compromise during capture the flag exercises. The course is designed to appeal to those with a sound knowledge of technical security issues. A good understanding of Internet protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP) and operating platform internals (Windows NT, Linux, Solaris) is a pre-requisite to those who wish to make the most of this course. Matta assumes that attendees have had some exposure to hacking techniques and methodologies. In order to ensure that all attendees have a similar level of knowledge, a technical primer is delivered free-of-charge before the course date.
